Retained Search
A retained search agreement is perfectly-suited for board member and executive management positions. As your exclusive recruiter, we will guide you through the process as a trusted strategic partner, helping you put together an exceptional leadership team by determining business culture, core leadership competencies, continuity and succession planning, and more.
Engaged Search
This approach is most prevalent with senior management and director-level posts. In engaged recruiting, a small percentage of the projected fee is paid when the search commences, but the remainder is only paid if our candidate is placed with your company. For the middle ground between contingency and retained, an engaged search is the sensible option.
Contingent Search
Contingent search is the most popular method used for mid-to senior-level professional positions. When we work with your business on a contingency basis, a fee will be payable only after the recruiter produces the candidate that you decide to hire and this will typically be paid when the employment commences, based upon the candidates’ first-year compensation.

Engaged Search is a hybrid between Contingent and Retained search services. It is the most suitable option for a broad range of circumstances such as the following:

- It is a newly-created position and you’re unfamiliar with the talent landscape
- The role is a private and confidential one that requires a delicate approach
- You need a commitment from your recruitment partner to work rigorously on the position
- There is talent you need in the market but it is not appropriate to reach out directly
An Engaged Search means that a firm agreement is made between between your organisation and Windsor Consulting. We will be fully obligated and committed to fill the position, working with you as an extension of your Human Resources team so that we can understand your needs as a company and be capable of articulating your value proposition like your own internal team.
Engaged Search also comes with an extended free replacement guarantee period as standard, compared to Contingent Search.
Contingent Search
We provide contingent services when clients are not able to commit to Retained or Engaged recruitment models. Sometimes, our clients may not wish to commit to these models for a number of reasons. However, we are able to offer consultant led contingent services, without compromising on quality. This has the benefit of being a success only model, where a fee is due only if we are able to successfully place the chosen candidate with your organisation.
